Senior Year: Fall 2014-Spring 2015
Wow. Senior year has come and I had two semesters to finish out my undergraduate college career on the best note possible. Well, I think it is safe to say I have achieved that. This past summer, I had the incredible opportunity to complete an honors experience through my study abroad trip to Italy. I can honestly say my time abroad was the best month of my life so far due to the people I met, knowledge I gained, and culture I was immersed in. With that, I entered my senior year on campus with nothing but good vibes and excitement.
Throughout the 2014 Fall Semester, I completed coursework for my major Health Sciences while managing two part time jobs, attending organization meetings, and applying for graduate school. This year, I worked as a teacher's assistant for three undergraduate courses within my major (Exercise Physiology, Physical Conditioning & Testing, and Musculoskeletal Anatomy) and continued as a physical therapy aide at a private practice on the westside of Cincinnati. I maintained membership in two primary campus organizations: ROAR Guides and Honors Ambassadors. I also completed my fifth and final Honors Experience by taking a seminar class spring semester, which is depicted in more detail in its own section of my site.
For me, this year was all about enjoying the time I had left as an undergrad. I wanted to finish up my coursework with solid grades, participate in and attend campus events, and spend time with those people who have made my college experience unique and unforgettable. As I finish out this last month of classes, I am constantly reflecting on the past four years about how much I have grown and developed into an individual who is confident, poised, and ready to take on the next step in my life. With that, I will graduate this May with a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences and continue as a University of Cincinnati Bearcat in the Doctoral of Physical Therapy Graduate Program. I am more than excited to begin this next chapter in my life to becoming a medical professional. I feel that I owe many thanks to my family and friends, faculty members and staff, and UC as a whole institution for giving me the tools I need to create a successful future. I am and will be forever a Bearcat!
